3 Ways To Make Rice Water For Hair Growth!

Are you looking for a natural way to make your hair grow faster? If so, you may want to use rice water for hair growth. Rice water is the liquid that is left over after cooking rice. It is rich in nutrients, including vitamins B, E, and C, and minerals, such as potassium and magnesium.

Rice water has been used as a hair treatment for centuries in Asia. Its use in hair treatments dates back 1000 years in Japan, where the royal court concubines grew floor-length hair. Rinsing the hair in rice water helps improve its health and appearance, reducing static and breakage.

Studies have shown that rice water can help improve your hair’s condition and make it grow faster. In one study, women who used rice water on their hair daily for three months saw significant improvement in hair growth.

If you have thinning or patchy hair, try these methods to fill it out for a denser, thicker look. Rice is natural and inexpensive, so it is a great ingredient to help your hair journey to fuller, healthy hair!

What Are The Best Ways To Make Rice Water?

There are three main methods of making rice water for hair growth. Experiment with them to see which one your hair responds to best. You can also read this post on the different types of rice, although it is always best to choose pesticide-free organic rice.

Boil.

Method 1: Boil rice in water. The first method is to boil rice. First, wash your rice in water to remove any dirt or impurities. Then, add the rice to a pot of boiling water. Allow the rice to cook until it is soft. Once cooked, strain the rice water into a bowl or container.

Let the rice water cool before using it on your hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes to one hour. Apply it to your hair, paying particular attention to rubbing it thoroughly into the scalp; use a spray bottle for convenience.

There is no need to leave it longer than 20-30 minutes. One of the main benefits of rice water is that it contains inositol, a carbocyclic sugar rich in amino acids and vitamins; once absorbed by the hair, it stays even after the hair is rinsed.

Inositol helps with the texture and condition of the hair. It is a humectant that draws moisture to the hair, keeping it hydrated.

Soak.

Method 2: Soak rice in water. First, wash the rice in water to remove any dirt or impurities. Then, add the rice to a bowl or container of water. Allow the rice to soak for at least four hours or overnight.

After the rice has soaked, strain the water into a bowl or container. Let the rice water cool before using it on your hair. You can either apply it directly to your hair or use it as a rinse after shampooing.

Ferment.

Method 3: Ferment rice water. The third method is to ferment rice water. First, wash the rice in water to remove any dirt or impurities. Then, add the rice to a bowl or container of water. Add some sugar, yeast, or another fermenting agent to the water. Cover the bowl or container and allow the mixture to ferment for 24-48 hours.

After fermentation, strain the rice water into a bowl or container. Fermented rice water is concentrated, so it highly benefits the hair. You may need to dilute some hair types so you don’t overwhelm the hair.

Mix 1 part water with 1 part rice water to dilute fermented rice water. For example, if you have 1 cup of rice water, mix it with 1 cup of water. This will help to prevent your hair from being damaged by the fermented rice water.

Apply it directly to your hair and leave for 20-30 minutes, or use it as a pre-poo or pre-hair mask rinse before shampooing out.

As rice water has become increasingly popular in the West, many fantastic products are on the market. Discover some of the best natural ones in this post if you don’t want the fuss of making one yourself!

The Benefits Of Rice Water As A Protein Treatment.

Rice water is rich in amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein, and it is this protein that helps to strengthen and repair the hair shaft. Rice water can help improve your hair’s condition as a protein treatment, making it softer, shinier, and more manageable.

Rice water can also help to reduce frizz and make your hair more resilient to damage. It is particularly beneficial for those with damaged or dry hair, as it can help to restore moisture and protect the hair from further damage. If you have colored hair, rice water can also help prolong your color’s life and prevent fading.

Is Rice Water Drying To The Hair?

While rice water is rich in vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for the hair and scalp, some people have concerns that the chemicals in rice water can strip the hair of its natural oils, causing it to become dry and brittle.

Although there is some evidence to support this claim, one study found that rice water did strip away some of the natural oils from the hair; however, the study also found that the hair was not significantly damaged after being washed with rice water.

You can also detox the hair with a natural clarifying shampoo once a month or detox in Bentonite clay to remove build-up to the hair!

How Often Can You Use Rice Water In the Hair?

Rice water can be used as a daily hair rinse or weekly for a more intensive treatment.

For a daily hair rinse, pour rice water over your hair after shampooing and massage it into your scalp. Rinse it out with cool water and style as usual.

Rice water can also be used as a leave-in conditioner by diluting it with water and spraying it onto your damp hair before styling. When used regularly, rice water can help improve your hair’s condition, make it softer and shinier, and reduce split ends.

If you are worried about using rice water daily, you can buy natural rice water formulated for daily use.

Apply rice water to your hair and scalp for a hair treatment weekly, and leave it on for 30 minutes to one hour before rinsing and shampooing.
