How To Make Herb Hair Rinses!

Hair rinses are becoming increasingly common in finding natural solutions to hair care. As more of us are considering using botanical plant ingredients to replace commercial products, we have renewed interest in natural ingredients from our kitchens and gardens.

Herbs have many health and beauty benefits, and some of the best ones for nourishing the scalp and hair can be grown in our gardens. If you don’t have a garden, no problem; they are available in most supermarkets and garden centers; you can keep them in pots at home or buy and use dried herbs.

How To Make And Use a Garden Herbal Hair Rinse.

Herbal hair rinses are easy to make and use. They can be left in or rinsed out in cold water. Throw the herbs in boiling filtered water for herb water rinses, as you would make tea. Leave to cool, and pour over the hair after washing.

Another method is to steep the herbs in Apple Cider Vinegar. The herbs can be fresh or dried. Leave the mixture in mason jars for a week, then refrigerate after the first use. When you need to rinse, add 1/2 cup of vinegar to 2-3 cups of filtered water and pour over the hair after washing. Rinse out in cold water.

Use 1 cup to 2 cups of vinegar or water using fresh herbs. Alternatively, 2-3 tbsp of dried herbs to 2 cups of vinegar or water.
